This is the Day that the Lord hath made!
We shall rejoice
and be glad in it!
Starting the day with those words set the tone for today.
Leaving the city of Managua behind us for a few hours we ascended the scenic
hills and shared worship with the beautiful people in San Marcos.
While we weren’t exactly lost, we did have to
“explore” a bit to find our way.
The plan was to have our own Pastor Ann preach
which did occur, but they were without their Pastor Miguel Rivera who is
hospitalized following a motorcycle accident.
[Matt with our new friends] |
[Pastor Martha Vink reading the scriptures, and Jimmy interpreted the sermon offered by Pastor Anne Bracket] |
We received a very warm welcome, shared enthusiastic songs, and inspirational prayers.
Thank you Pastor Ann for leading our
spiritual times today!
One of our interpreters, Jimmy, translated the sermon,
songs and prayers.
How blessed we are to have him with us all week.
Following a classy lunch (above the usual mission
experience) we were blessed with the most beautiful view we have seen so far,
at the Laguna de Apoyo (aka Crater Lake).
Quite a lake!
Located in Santo Catarina, the
shops, and park were bustling with families relaxing and enjoying the view.
Horse rides were available, although none of us got on.
This afternoon, Artisan shops provided us
some shopping opportunities and a way to help the local economy.
Even those
who said they weren’t shoppers, made some purchases.
So many choices!
These days prior to getting to our work site - have fostered
developing friendships, camaraderie, and shared fun, all important in team
relations.
I am looking forward to getting to Matagalpa and then on to Nueva
Jerusalem, the land bank where we shall work.
While we have avoided any rain so
far, I am guessing our luck will not last indefinitely!
Buenos noches.
